The Homeless Ministry of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church exists to bring the life changing message of Jesus to the homeless of Miami in both word and deed and to help bring as many people as possible out of homelessness.
What we do
Every Sunday night we bring the message of the Gospel to the homeless in three ways. First, when volunteers go to downtown Miami to feed the homeless a short devotional is always given where the Gospel is clearly presented to those present. Second, we show them how the love of Christ compels us to love our neighbor by providing them with a meal. Finally, we encourage those with whom we come in contact to use the resources available to them to get out of homelessness.
Who we serve
The men and women that the Homeless Ministry feeds fall into two main categories. Some are the "working poor," that is they are individuals who are working but cannot earn enough money to get out of poverty. Second are those homeless who will, for one reason or another, not go to the Homeless Assistance Center, the Miami Rescue Mission, Camillus House, or any of the other agencies available for food and shelter.
Our Vision has always been that the Homeless Ministry be a Church without walls, to share God's message and demonstrate it by loving service -- with food, clothes, and love.
How can I help?
This ministry is completely dependent on the generosity of the members of Old Cutler and other churches. You can help by donating money for food and products, preparing the meals, or by joining us as we deliver the food on Sunday evenings. Food and Monetary gifts are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at the church at 3:00pm every Sunday in Harrell Hall.
If you have any questions about this ministry or would like to serve in any way, please call Manny Stinson at (305) 793-5069.
