Check out what weโre learning about in Haven!
Our Sunday School lesson for this week is based off of Romans 3:9-31.
Verse of the Week:
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.โ โRomans 3:23-24Here are a few questions you can ask your kids to help engage with them throughout the week:
As a family, what are some of the ways your personal sins affect one another? Parents, how do you sin against your children? Kids, how do you sin against your parents? Spend some time in honest conversation with one another, repenting of your own wrongs and asking for forgiveness.
Why do you need the gospel? Share with one another why you need the good news of redemption in your own life.
Where do you look for salvation other than in Christ alone? Parents, in what ways might you be steering your kids to find their worth and value in things (such as success in school, sports, or social life) other than Jesus?
Main Takeaway:
In Romans 3โone of the most incredible chapters in all of ScriptureโPaul outlines God's plan of salvation. Though we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, we are justifiedโdeclared righteous before Godโ by the sacrificial blood of Jesus. We receive this amazing gift of grace not by our obedience to the law, but by faith alone.

We're here to come alongside you as you disciple your children!
Here is one resource that might be helpful to you this week:
Lately Iโve been thinking about generational gaps. Time and age approach us all so quickly, and Iโve found myself reckoning with that when I encounter words Iโve never heard and references I donโt understand. I increasingly find myself swimming in a cultural context that I feel veryโฆold in; especially when I hear kids joking about 6-7 or talking about K-Pop Demon Hunters. But one resource Iโve found that has helped me to navigate the increasing gap in my knowledge of current culture and our studentsโ immersion in it, has been Axis, a non-profit organization that acts as a cultural translator to parents. Their aim is to help parents bridge the generational and cultural gap with their students by providing them not only with Biblical resources, but also with practical things such as a lingo translator! To hear more about Axisโ mission and vision, you can listen to this podcast where their primary writer of the Culture Translator newsletter, Kate Watson, explains what they do, how they do it, and why!
The Haven team and I hope and pray that this helps you as you disciple your students. Remember, we are here for you and your kids. Please feel free to reach out if you're facing any challenges.
